Meet Dr. James B. Segulyev
Dr. Segulyev completed his undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Oregon, then went on to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry to earn his DDS degree. In the eight years that Dr. Segulyev has been in private practice, he has accrued hundreds of hours of continuing education in his effort to provide his patients with the most up-to-date technology and treatment techniques.
Dr. Segulyev was one of the first dentists in the San Fernando Valley to incorporate advanced laser technology into his practice, and he was awarded the prestigious San Francisco Dental Society Award for Ethics and Professionalism.
In addition to being an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the San Fernando Dental Society the doctor is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, plus he holds Fellowship status in the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry.
When not seeing patients or perusing the latest dental journals, Dr. Segulyev and his wife enjoy spending time with their three children. Other personal interests of his include hiking, fishing, gardening and keeping up with current events.
Meet Dr. Caroline Chan Segulyev
Dr. Chan received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA, then earned her DDS degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.
She has been practicing for eight years, and she enjoys building relationships with her patients and providing quality, personalized dentistry.
Dr. Chan strives to provide gentle care and a sense of comfort so that her patients do not need to fear coming to the dentist. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Fernando Dental Society.
In her personal life, Dr. Chan's favorite times are spent with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and appreciating the beauty of nature.
I've worked in dentistry all of my adult life, and I enjoy it as much now as when I first began my career, especially because of all the wonderful people it enables me to meet. I love getting to know all of our patients on a personal level, and working in a smaller, patient-oriented office like Chan and Segulyev makes it easier for me to do so. I mainly handle the front office aspect of the practice, and I'm always happy to help answer any insurance, financial, and/or scheduling questions you may have. Outside the office, I'm a theatre aficionado and love to cook and garden, but my dogs are tops on my list!
I have been a dental assistant for 11 years. I enjoy my position very much as it allows me to interact with each and every patient on a personal level. I love working in this office because we have amazing patients, a great team, and terrific doctors. It feels like working with family! When I'm not working with my "office family," I love spending time at home with my husband and two sons.
I've been practicing dental hygiene at Chan and Segulyev since 1989. My mission is to help every patient I see achieve a healthy and beautiful smile. Having a team approach where everyone is committed to always improving the standard of care we provide our patients helps me achieve my goal. When I'm not practicing hygiene, I enjoy camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
I have been a dental hygienist for over 20 years, specializing in periodontics for 18 of those years. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to help many patients, from age 3 to 95, and I've also had the pleasure of building close, long-lasting relationships. It always thrills me to see the great results my patients and I achieve together, and I look forward to helping new patients in need of periodontal therapy. When I am not busy working, I enjoy my close family life, visiting with friends, traveling, and exercising.
I've been in the dental field for 17 years. As a dental hygienist, I really love getting to know all of my patients and helping them improve their smiles through patient education and keeping up with their oral health on a regular basis. Outside of work, I enjoy spending my time with family and friends. I also love to travel, exercise, and entertain.
